V Thiruvengadam Narayanasamy from Govindanagaram village who has been the Secretary of Theni East Union, to contest in Theni on behalf of AIADMK in the parliamentary elections
Theni Parliamentary Constituency consists of four assembly constituencies namely Antipatti, Periyakulam, Bodi and Kambam in Theni district and two assembly constituencies namely Cholavanthan and Usilambatti in Madurai district.
Former Chief Ministers MGR and Jayalalithaa won in the Antipatti constituency. Similarly, former Chief Ministers Jayalalithaa and O. Panneerselvam contested and won the Bodi constituency. Similarly, DTV Dhinakaran contested the Theni parliamentary seat for the first time and won as an MP. To that extent, this block has got VIP status. Theni parliamentary constituency, which used to be AIADMK's stronghold, is the home district of OPS.
