Venkat Nageswar Chalasani is the new CEO of AMFI

Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) announced the appointment of Venkat Nageswar Chalasani as its new chief executive (CE). Chalasani will now succeed NS Venkatesh, who served in this position for two consecutive terms of three years each.

AMFI's newly appointed CE has served as the deputy managing director (DMD) at one of India’s key banks, the State Bank of India (SBI). He has also held various positions as a part of committees set up by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Ministry of Finance. Chalasani has also been the Chairman of the Fixed Income Money Market and Derivatives Association of India (FIMMDA) and the Foreign Exchange Dealers Association of India (FEDAI).

The Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), the association of SEBI registered mutual funds in India of all the registered Asset Management Companies, was incorporated on August 22, 1995, as a non-profit organisation. As of now, all the 42 Asset Management Companies that are registered with SEBI, are its members.
