British Indian Doctor Chandra Mohan Kanneganti Honored With The Title Of Knighthood

New year is the time for the King of the United Kingdom to honour its citizens who have done exemplary work in their field. The 2024 New Year’s Honours List was released on Friday evening in London.The list features nearly 30 citizens of Indian origin coming from various professions.

The awardees will be receiving the honour of Knighthood from King Charles III. The honour system in the UK is one of the oldest in the world.

Among the Indians receiving the honour, there are healthcare professionals, philanthropists, community activists and professors. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called them the ‘pride’ of the country. Dr Chandra Mohan Kanneganti, (Native of Andhra Pradesh - India) who is made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE), for his services to General Practice.
